The Manawatu Microlight Club is situated at the Feilding Aerodrome, Campbell’s Road, Feilding. It was established 25 years ago which makes it one of the oldest microlight clubs in the country. We extend an open invitation to those wanting to learn about flying as well as already qualified pilots looking for a place to visit. Our club facilities comprise;
o Three aircraft are available for training and /or use by club members
o A hangar capable of housing 4 aircraft.
o A fully equipped club room.
The club is heavily involved in community activities and has provided demonstration flights at Manawatu community functions as well as giving trial flights to aviation oriented organisations such as the Air Scouts. We have also provided microlight passenger experiences to We hold a club Barbecue at mid day on the third Sunday of each month (rain or shine). This provides members and visitors with an opportunity to socialise in an aviation setting so please feel free to come along.
Trial Flights and Pilot Training Sessions.
These are available every Sunday (weather permitting). No appointment is necessary but if you are travelling any distance it’s advisable to call the club (06 323 9861) before starting your journey to check local weather conditions and instructor availability.
Our team of RAANZ Certified Instructors have many years experience in pilot training as well as practical experience in general aviation. They work on a voluntary basis so learning to fly with the MMC is very affordable. Consequently, we have become the club of choice for many aspiring pilots in the lower half of the North Island.
Aspiring pilots are often introduced to microlight flying by taking a Trial Flight with an instructor. (Trial Flight Gift Vouchers may be purchased from the club). Typically, this leads to their joining the club as a Novice Pilot and undergoing one – on – one instruction.
